Abstract

A research has been conducted on daily activities on long tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis) at Sangeh Natural Recreational Area, Badung, Bali, from October – November 2012. The objective of the research was to indentify the daily activities on long tailed macaques at the area. Focal Animal Sampling method was utilized to obtain the data of daily activities. The data collected were descriptive quantitatively analyzed. The research show that the frequency of long-tailed macaques daily activity was dominated by moving behavior, then followed by resting, eating, grooming, embracing, object manipulation, cuddling, and aggressive, while behavior that rarely conducted was mating. Based on gender of adult individuals, resting, eating, moving, aggressive, object manipulation and mating were dominated by the adult males, while embracing, cuddling, and grooming were dominated by adult females.
