Abstract

The research was aimed to investigate the diversity of soil surface insects in organic farming system at Banjar Titigalar, Bangli village, District of Tabanan,Bali. The study has been conducted from October until December 2013, and the insects were collected using fitfall traps. Data was descriptivelly analized, then identified up to Genus. The number of insects collected was 3.066 individual, which belong to 20 genus, 17 family and 7 order. All insects collected belong to the order of Hymenoptera, Orthoptera, Collembola, Coleoptera, Hemiptera, Homoptera, and Diptera. The diversity of soil surface insect was highest on October with the Diversity Index (H’) of 1,5821 at night time and of 1,3978 during the day, whilst lowest on December with the diversity index (H’) of 0,5829 at night time and 0,9223 during the day.
