Abstract
This paper tries to epistemologically formulate the theory of narratology epistemological that examines the discourse of [narrative] literature. Due to the
nature of epistemological exposure, then it will be in contact with other terminology, which is close to narratology, such as structuralism, post-structuralism, discourse,
narrative semiotics, focalization, the narrator, besides to the ? gures of the originator of the theory, the concepts and terminology. The aim is to recall the literary experts
in Indonesia are that tend to follow and study outside literature (psychology, sociology, anthropology, etc.), and forget the main literary discourse studies, which
may build a scienti? c foundation.
